Product Description
Common use
Lopid is used for treating high blood cholesterol and triglycerides. It is used along with an appropriate diet. Lopid is an antihyperlipidemic agent. It works by lowering the blood levels of triglycerides and low-density lipoprotein (LDL) ("bad") cholesterol by reducing their production by the liver. It also increases blood levels of high-density lipoprotein (HDL) ("good") cholesterol.
Dosage and direction
Use Lopid as directed by your doctor.
Take Lopid by mouth twice a day 30 minutes before morning and evening meals, unless otherwise directed by your doctor.
Lopid is most effective when used with a diet that reduces the intake of cholesterol and saturated fats, and an exercise program.
Take Lopid on a regular schedule to get the most benefit from it.
If you miss a dose of Lopid, take it as soon as possible. If it is almost time for your next dose, skip the missed dose and go back to your regular dosing schedule. Do not take 2 doses at once.
Ask your health care provider any questions you may have about how to use Lopid.
Storage
Store Lopid at room temperature, between 68 and 77 degrees F (20 and 25 degrees C). Store away from heat, moisture, and light. Do not store in the bathroom. Keep Lopid out of the reach of children and away from pets.
